I made a small/tall card this week (the 3x6 size) for the Get Negative challenge. I was stumped by this at first because I don't have a die cutting machine and I have relatively few punches, most just basic shapes like squares and circles. Then I started experimenting with my Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and this was the result. I kinda love it! I needed more contrast between the front (punched) paper and the backing paper and first tried inking the edges of the silhouette but didn't like the result. Finally I took a thin sharpie and drew an outline with the pen barely touching the paper, letting the natural slight trembles of my hand make the line skip and stutter where it would, and I like the result very much! Finished the card off with some letter stickers for the greeting.

This turned out really well! I'm intrigued, too, because any butterfly punches I have, I'd have had to make a wide rather than a tall card. I had to think carefully to come up with a design that I could reach my punch in from different angles. Well done with this .
